Description
Charlie's Island is a private family, vacation playhouse located along the windward side of Long Caye facing Belize's barrier reef; the longest in the Western Hemisphere.
The main house is securely nestled amongst a white sand beach, coco plum hedges, and tall coconut trees. From the forward deck, one can sit and imbibe in a cool beverage while enjoying unobstructed views of the Caribbean. The various shades of turquoise blue water will surely impress.
Inside the ground floor comprises of two bedrooms each with two single beds and a bathroom. There is also a sitting area, a card table, a china cabinet and a service buffet for serving early morning continental breakfasts. A circular staircase takes you upstairs to another private bedroom comprising of two beds with 360-degree views of the island.
Immediately next door is the multi-purpose kitchen building. Inside is a full galley kitchen, little dining table, deep freeze, an additional bathroom and two bedrooms accommodating an additional 8 bunk beds. These rooms are primarily reserved for support staff.
All utilities are managed by the onsite caretaker; a jovial, sea barnacle of a man who can pick the sweetest coconuts from the tree and serve them up with a smile...... Remember to save your spoon.
Onsite utilities include self-generated power, rainwater cisterns, and WiFi. All bedrooms have fans that pairs nicely with fresh sea breezes.
Access to the island is via a licensed 26' fiberglass skiff the "La Jeffa" that stays with you for your entire stay. This vessel is captained by a guide who will take you anywhere you need to go. Fishing, snorkeling, water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding or island hopping are easily achieved from the island. A picnic visit to "Miami Beach" or the "Sandbar" is highly suggested.
Once back onshore you can beach comb the island, play volleyball, badminton, bocci ball, pocket soccer, engage in hermit crab races or simply unplug from modern society and laze away in a hammock until your next meal.
Charlie's Island is rented with a full-service staff that includes the island caretaker, guide and cook. There's nothing better than eating your fresh catch for dinner!

Does not include alcoholic beverages, sodas, fuel or gratuities to staff. Menu options are available and should be agreed upon prior to your arrival.
Deposits are highly suggested to reserve your vacation package. Cancellations 30 days prior to arrival are fully refundable. Cancellations within 30 days are charged at 50% of the deposit. Full payment must be received in our account 2 weeks prior to your arrival.
Guests have full access to the main house. The multi-purpose kitchen building is primarily reserved for support staff.
You must plan ahead as there are no walk-in stores on the island however there's plenty of shopping and dining options on the nearby island of Caye Caulker.
